MODALITIES

Positional Release

A form of manual therapy where we relax tissues by giving them slack, rather than applying direct pressure. This is my primary way of working on muscles and fascia.

Joint Work

Using positional release principles to increase the “accessory movement” of joints (the amount of play they have at rest) and encourage the joint to sit more aligned. Often increases the range of motion and relaxes muscles nearby. Can help neck and spinal alignment issues.

Craniosacral

A very gentle, light touch therapy which is deeply soothing to the nervous system and stabilizing to the skeletal system. Clients report being in deeply relaxed states, with the brain calming profoundly, and sometimes feeling as if they are floating or being rocked. Leaves people feeling rested and clearheaded, improves sleep.

Visceral Work/Chi Nei Tsang

I am certified in Chi Nei Tsang, a form of Chinese abdominal massage, which can be helpful for digestive disorders, female reproductive system problems, and emotional processing.

Neurofascial Work

Working along the nerves to decrease irritation and inflammation can be profoundly helpful for nerve pain.

Cupping Therapy

Using silicone suction cups to draw blood and lymph to an area, and release stuck fascia in a more comfortable way than traditional myofascial release. Very relaxing and detoxifying; fantastic for recovery.

Trigger Point

Working with a map of points that can radiate pain in predictable patterns. Trigger points have been a big part of my paradigm from the start, but I release them much less painfully now.

Intraoral

Using a gloved hand to work inside the mouth, which can be extremely helpful for headaches and TMJ pain.

Bowen

A minimalistic form of bodywork involving “plucking” key points. This modality is remarkably effective at balancing the two halves of the body and helping other treatments last longer.

Chapman Points

An old-school osteopathic method for affecting the flow of lymph to nerves and organs.

Guided Meditation

I often guide clients in a basic grounding mediation, and various Chi Kung meditations such as Bone Breathing, The Inner Smile, and The Microcosmic Orbit.

BodyMind Bridge

I am certified in BodyMind Bridge. It’s like taking a walk together in your inner landscape to deeply meet yourself and harness the powerful healing force of your own body.

Crystal Therapy

I am a Certified Crystal Therapy Practitioner. I can apply minerals to support and assist healing on an energetic level.
